Hunting TripEthereal watched as the snow fell down in soft powder puffs upon the artic terrain. Billows of steam rolled off of the dragon’s hide while he rested under a long-dead tree. The bare branches offered no protection from the cold, but the dragon’s belly was full with a fire that provided him comfortable warmth in the desolate place. While Ethereal did not care much for the cooler temperatures of Luna’s home, he had agreed to bring her back for a hunting trip with their son, Apollo. The young dragon tramped through the snow clumsily alongside his mother who, in stark contrast, glided on top of the snow like a beautiful apparition. As Ethereal watched he observed that Apollo had inherited the light bones and snow-shoe paws of his mother, preventing the child from sinking completely into the snow like his father often did. He would do alright in this terrain as well as his desert home, Ethereal thought proudly. Then he winched as Apollo plowed nose-first into a snow drift.
